Jas. wa-o, good news.  Have you considered employing a "professional baby sitter" for the first month to take care of the mom and baby.  Although a bit expensive, 2.5 years ago - aroung 8,000 per month.  But it really worths since she can teach you and even the maid (if you need to employ a new maid) all fine details in taking care of the baby.  Since during night time, it would be difficult for all of you to sleep well, so if the baby sitter comes in the morning (normally around 6-7 hours, then you can all take a good rest at the daytime, including the maid.  Otherwise, all of you might not have the energy to wake up in the m iddle of the night.  

Also, she knows the way of cooking good things for your wife to eat.  Have you heard of that after giving birth, it's a good chance for the female to have excellent recovery of her health if she has given good caring at the postnatal period?

Since the standard are quite varied.  You can arrange an interview with the potential "baby sitter" and ask her to demonstrate some basic skills or ask her some basic knowledge such as what kind of food you will cook for the mom (if normal delivery and surgery should be diff).

As for me, I will choose one at least with nice looking, neat and tidy (without too much accessories/make up, pay attention to her finger nails and hair) since your baby needs to see her everyday.  Normally, they should mark down the daily tiem schedule for the baby: time for drinking milk, pp, and "big deal".  Also all details in expenses e.g. buying food for cooking for mom.

Well, better to choose one with good reference.  You can ask if your friends have some referral.

When is the expected delivery date of your wife?  Anyway, relax and wait for the great time.

congratulations!! My son is 4 months old now. Given the decoration and smell, we will move in two months later. The first 3 months are really tough time, but happiness comes along. Wish your princess healthy and pretty!!
